Editor’s note: Ever in a situation that you would like to put some songs from your new music CD into your portable MP3 player and is unable to do so because the songs stored in the music CD are in cda format which is not possible to store into the computer and the mp3 player. Here is a solution, use a freeware “CDEX” to convert them into MP3 format.

Break through ISP port restriction, remote control your computer with TeamViewer

Editor’s note:  Most people remote control their home or office computer with VNC or Remote desktop, but those 2 methods have 2 disadvantages: 1. They both needs settings on the host computer and router which might be difficult for users and 2. Some ISP might block the ports (I use 3G for my home computer sometimes, and the ISP has blocked the services). To solve those issues, I use Teamviewer.

Resize photos for email with FastStone Photo Resizer

Editor’s note: Some email clients and webmails do not support sending large attachments, and therefore to be able to send many photos to friends, we have to resize them first before sending. Here I recommend a software called “FastStone Photo Resizer”.

Setup SSH (OpenSSH) server for windows XP

Editor’s note: SSH provides a secure way to transfer data through the web and therefore I have decided to install a SSH server for my windows machine recently.
